Naturlehrpfad Glocke
Mitten in Finkenberg befindet sich eine ursprüngliche Naturoase mit reichhaltiger Flora – die Glocke, ein 33 Hektar großes Schutzgebiet, das über den Naturlehrpfad Glocke erwandert werden kann.
Im Gebiet der Glocke sind verschiedene Vegetationsgebiete zu finden: Felsen mit Trockenvegetation und für die Region einzigartige Linden- und Buchenmischwälder. Besonders beeindruckend ist die Pflanzenwelt entlang der Tuxbach-Klamm, die im Bereich des Teufelsstegs und der Friedhofsbrücke bis zu 70 m tief eingeschnitten ist. Schautafeln informieren über den Lebensraum Wald und geben Aufschluss über den geologischen Aufbau und die historische Nutzung des Waldes durch den Menschen.
In Finkenberg könnt Ihr entweder an den angegebenen Koordinaten parken oder an der Bushaltestelle Teufelsbrücke aussteigen. Nachdem Ihr die Brücke überquert habt, geht es nach links in den Naturlehrpfad. Es handelt sich um einen Rundwanderung (Nr. 32, 32a und 32b), den Ihr in beliebiger Richtung laufen könnt. Die Gehzeit beträgt etwa eine Stunde. Der Weg befindet sich fast vollständig im Wald, die Wege können problemlos mit normalem Schuhwerk gemeistert werden.
Educational Nature Trail Glocke
In the middle of Finkenberg you will discover the Glocke, a protected area covering 33 ha, along the Educational Nature Trail. A natural oasis with fauna and flora in abundance.
Various types of plant life can be found in the Glocke. Rocks are covered with drying foliage and – unusually for the region – the forests are a deciduous mix of lime and beech trees. The plant life is particularly impressive along the edge of the Tuxer Gorge, a ravine which reaches depths of up to 70 m in the areas of the Devil's and Cemetery Bridges. Display boards along the route provide information on forest habitats, the geological development and a history of how humans have used the forest to their benefit.
You can park your car at the coordinates of the additional waypoint. Alternatively, you can take the bus to Finkenberg and get off at the bus stop Teufelsbrücke (Devil's bridge). After crossing the bridge you turn left into the educational trail. Hiking on the round walk (footpath no. 32, 32a and 32b) takes approx. 1 hour. The trail is almost entirely through the forest and easy enough that you can walk it in normal trainers.
