A series of 5 caches set on the route up to Beinn Dubh and Coire na h-Eanachan. The caches have an insect theme, as like the rest of western Scotland, the area is plagued with midges.
Parking for the series is available in Luss village centre (charge applies) or there are limited spaces just off the A82 at the trailhead. (Please see the additional waypoint for coordinates). Although this cache is number 5, it will probably be the first if you complete the series from Luss. I originally intended to place it on Mid Hill, but the weather was so bad when I set the series (21 June!), I turned round after #4.
At 642m Beinn Dubh is a Graham (mountain over 2,000ft). The route up is very exposed and therefore you should dress according. It may be sunny at loch-side, but on the ridge you could experience driving rain and gale force wind; even in the summer. The path is very faint in places, so please make sure your navigational skills are up to the task.
A detailed route can be found at the site above.
The cache is a small lock & seal box, containing log book, pencil and creepy crawly. It is big enough for swaps and GC/TB.
I hope you enjoy the series and the views.
