Geocache Description:

You'll ride like lightening along this track.

This is another track in a loop of singletrack in a series of geocaches to highlight the fantastic mountain bike trails that we have to the West of Albury on Nailcan hill.

Called Lightening Strike this trail meanders from Guys trail , over the side of the hill to Petes Trail.

Aptly named Lightening strike because a tree was struck by lightening along the track. Not sure which tree but it’s not the one the cache is located in even though it is burnt out.

To access  Lightening Strike you can start from the start from Range Rd and walk up the firetrail and then turn left up along the Ridge trail. When navigating to this area I would recommend doing it on a Mountain bike to speed up the time or if you are after a lengthy walk (albeit an enjoyable one) it will take you about an hour or 2. During summer months it's advisable to take your own water as there are no taps up here.

Coming from the Range Rd access point, travel along the the ridge trail until you reach Guys trail on your left. Just past this intersection you will see the start of Lightening Strike. It even has a sign saying so left over from a mountain bike race.

Alternatively and a probably quicker way to reach this track is from Centaur rd. Travel up along the ridge trail until you reach Petes Trail. On the Left hand corner of this intersection you will see and old tree with a dead limb. If you’re stealthy you may even see it’s occupant up there sunning himself.

This is where Lightening strike comes out. Either way the cache is located approximately half way along the track near a switchback. If you aren’t a mountain biker, that’s just terminology for a tight turn that switches back on itself AKA hairpin bend in the track.

If you are really sneaky you might just find that you aren’t that far off from the ridge trail.

No need to wander to far off the track for this one.

Cache is a small container with some small swaps.
