Geocache Description:

The cache has been placed to provide another perspective of the Twin City region. Federation Hill is one of Wodonga's most dominant hills and forms the backdrop to the southern end of the city.

Access is via Ballara Drive, Federation Park Estate.

Federation Hill is a 350 hectare conservation and recreation reserve managed by the City of Wodonga, Parklands are involved via bush restoration projects.  There are several fire trails that have been named after native grasses and groundcovers typically found in the Box Gum Grassy Woodlands, the trail names are:
  • Carex
  • Kangaroo
  • Sun Dew
  • Lily
  • Blue Bell

Erosion control of the region has been undertaken by planting a large quantity of shrubs in gullies.

We hope that you enjoy your stroll and the views. The GZ is situated away from the walking trail for caching privacy but as always we would ask that you be mindful of those utilising this reserve and ensure that the cache is well hidden when you leave.
