This footbridge spans the expanse which is the Bairnsdale to Melbourne Railway Line. This is a safe method of crossing the railway line and associated freight yards of the Bairnsdale Railway Station.
The GZ is the footbridge; BYO pen and no room for swaps.
Difficulty rating is mid range, be wary of the muggles using the bridge and of those exiting the East Gippsland Water Office across the road. Yes the dog in the yard can make a bit of noise, but you should be safe.
A BIT OF HISTORY
In the early days of the railway at Bairnsdale there may not have been any need for a footbridge such as this one, however as the train traffic increased for freight and passenger services and the frequency increased, there would have been a greater need for this footbridge.
One thing that is noticeable, is the fact that the bridge has been designed with ramps to ascend and descend on each side and there are no steps. At this point in time I have no history information, though this may change in time.

Now that would be telling ... though I will say if you have done Chaplain Mike's very first hide at Tooborac, in Central Victoria (GC37B8G-Nuts about native birds), you’ll know exactly what you’re looking for.

LESSON LEARNED
When we originally had this cache published, it had more than one element, which unbeknown to us was against the rules and when published it slipped past the reviewer ... well we are all human.
We have kept the name of the cache the same as we still want to promote CITO and celebrate those that have found it already and taken part.
If you feel like assisting with the cause of CITO and wish to include a photo in your log it would be most welcome (BUT it's optional).
