Discover Erinsville in L&A County Passport

Discover Erinsville in L&A County

Well, not quite Erinsville - but close.  Just north of the village at the beginning of the Canadian Shield, you will find interesting transformation of the land.  Limestone is replaced with granite, and the terrain becomes more diverse. Sheffield Conservation Area highlights this beauty, with an overwhelming abundance of flora and fauna.  This area is also significant for another reason, as it is known as the 'most southerly location' with the darkest skies in Ontario. Star gazers and night sky observers flock to this area, as light pollution is at a minimum making viewing conditions very similar to the late 1800's.

This geocache is one of 15 found in the Discover L&A County Geocaching Passport Tour.  Passports can be picked up at the following locations:

Each time you locate a cache, punch your passport.  Once all 15 geocaches are found, the passport can be redeemed for a free L&A County Geocoin. Visit the County of Lennox & Addington Office or the Land O' Lakes Tourist Office to collect your Geocoin, or mail in the completed passport (please include your return address and cacher name) to the following address to have the geocoin mailed to you:
