*****School's Out!*****



To celebrate the end of the school year, my daughter and I finally decided to hide our 1st geocache!  This cache has been placed just a short walk from her school, Christa McAuliffe Elementary.
McAuliffe (10/2/48–1/28/86) was a teacher from Concord, New Hampshire, and was one of the 7 crew members killed in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster.  She was selected from an applicant pool of over 11,000 teachers as part of Ronald Reagan’s Teacher In Space Program, designed to find the first civilian to fly into space and increase public interest in the Space Shuttle program.   To read more about McAuliffe’s life and contributions as an educator, click here.

 
 
 
The cache is a small plastic container w/ a lid filled with swag mostly accumulated by my daughter during her journey through 2nd grade this year.  Although the hide is not particularly devious, it's pretty well camo'd by the natural surroundings.  Please tread lightly in your search and replace/cover the container as it was so that the many kids who play in these woods don't see it out in the open.
FTF gets a free appetizer card for a nearby Issaquah restaurant.  There is also a shiny, almost-new Good Luck Geocoin I picked up in another cache the other day on Mercer Island.
