Geocache Description:

Glendale Cemetery is Akron's oldest cemetery! Established in 1839, it's sweeping landscape makes it a peaceful resting place for hundreds of thousands of people. Even today, Glendale continues to grow with more markers and headstones every year.

This cache has substantial trinkets to draw young and old alike to the cemetery. If you like history, make sure to look around! Below is a list of famous people who are buried at Glendale. The links have the section number in the cemetery where the people are buried, and some have the row and headstone number. To find a map with section numbers, go to the related webpage and click on "cemetery map" from the top panel.

Please be respectful of everything in the cemetery. Cemetery hours are 9 am to 5 pm. Enter through the main gate, which is off of Glendale Avenue (the other gates are usually kept closed except during a funeral).

Happy caching!
