Geocache Description:

Church Micro IE 29 - Trinity Presbyterian Church, Greyabbey

Trinity Presbyterian Church, Greyabbey

This meeting house was built in 1827 due to a split with the other Presbyterian congregation in Greyabbey. That became known as 1st Greyabbey Presbyterian, and this church became Trinity, or 2nd Presbyterian Church

The cost of building the church was paid by subscriptions with Lord Dufferin, being one of the principal contributors. The first minister was Rev. John Watson, formerly of the 1st Presbyterian Church.

It was described in 1836 as being very plain with dimensions of 57 feet by 27 feet and capable of holding 288 people.

You do not have to enter Church property to find the cache. The cache is wheelchair accessible, but may require assistance retrieving the container, depending on mobility. It is a traditional type, magnetic nano, so please bring your own pen. There is adequate, parking next to the cache.

The Church Micro IE series is open to everyone; if you have a church you would like to place a cache at then please contact THE_Chris through Geocaching.com. This is to keep track of the numbers of the churches and give you the general format for the cache page. In the UK there are ~1500 caches in the series so we have some catching up to do! Also, if you currently have a published cache at a church that you would like to include in the series, get in contact and we can add it.
