Geocache Description:

Shows you a trail which will take you up to Burro and Grandview Peaks.  You can see both Antelope Island and the western edge of the Uinta Mountains from those peaks! There are quite a few trails coming out of Rudy's Flat, so the purpose of this cache is to hopefully show some people who aren't familiar with this trail, where it's at.

To find the cache, go to Rudy's Flat. If you come from North Canyon, once you get Rudy's you'll see a trail heading south, and the one you're still on heading east and then northeast. At this junction, head south a few yards until you get to a fire pit. Then head east and you'll see the trail (coordinates listed in the additional waypoints section). Then head east. If you come from the City Creek Canyon side, you'll see a random junction just right before Rudy's Flat, avoid heading east at that spot because it'll end in 1/4 mile. Wait until you're in the Rudy's Flat Meadow and close the the trail coordinates I listed below, before you head east.

At the coordinates for the geocache, you'll see two trees which have fallen over onto the trail. Follow these two trees up to some evergreen trees. The one on the right hand side has the cache hanging from one of its branches like a Christmas ornament. It's hanging about six feet high and on the right hand side of this tree. The cache is a bison tube.

To get to Burro and Grandview Peak, head past this cache and east/up on this trail, then follow the ridge line until the trail disappears, travel east through the gulch you've just been placed in, and use the coordinates from the additional waypoints section to reach Burro Peak. Follow the ridge to arrive at Grandview. Bring spare batteries if you hike past the cache and to these peaks. A backup map and compass would also be good. Bring plenty of water!

Enjoy!
