Do you want to know what really happened on the day when the Declaration of Independence has been signed? So pack your lunch and go back to that Thursday morning of July 4th, 1776. For couple of hours you'll became a young messenger and friend of Thomas Jefferson. And remember, your country relies on you! So Godspeed and Happy Independence Day!
Here are just couple of suggestions on how to proceed in this game.
1.) Turn off tracking and calibrate the compass on your GPSr before you start the game.
2.) If it's stated in the cartridge that you have something in your possession, then check your inventory.
3.) The password is NOT case sensitive. Use just the word with no punctuation. If you enter wrong password by mistake, leave and re-enter the zone for another try (it was causing crashes on certain devices when I created a loop to bring you back to the password enter screen).
4.) At one point in the game, you'll have to run for about 150 yards to protect, what was intrusted to you. This section is a straight shot on paved leveled path. Position yourself where the two paths intersect before starting your run. The timer gets triggered when you leave one zone and stops upon re-entry to another zone. (I was very easy on you and gave you 40 seconds to accomplish this.) The cartridge is playable even if you fail to successfully finish this task, you'll just have to do more work for it.
5.) Because there is a lot of repetitive script in this cartridge, I used couple new features I haven't used before. This move significantly cuts down on the file size making it snappier on Garmin devices, but causes slight delay on the Apple ones. So be advised, that when you put the Declaration of Independence away, you'll see some beach ball action on your screen. Just give it some time to process it without your intervention. (I don't know what causes this and I'll try to look into it when I get a chance. So far, it never crashed for me.)
This is a Wherigo geocache so the above coords are for the starting location of this game. Upon successful completion of the game, Thomas Jefferson will reward you with the coordinates of the geocache. The cache is a magnetic nano and doesn't contain a pen, so bring your own writing instrument.
SAVE EARLY, SAVE OFTEN! These cartridges crash sometimes, but if you have a save, you can resume from the last point in the game.
Unlocking the cartridge on Whereigo.com is not required, but it would be greatly appreciated. After you've completed the cartridge you should see a "what_really_happen.gws" file on your device. You can upload this file to Wherigo.com and it will "Unlock" it, giving you credit for completing the cartridge (on the Wherigo site). It will also help track the number of completions for this cartridge. Again not required, but I would really appreciate it if you did. You may also complete the cartridge by visiting the cartridge page and entering in the completion code you received after completing the cartridge. You may also review the cartridge by Write a Log.

Congrats to TeamHorwich and DSKG on their 2 days late Freedom-fighting adventure and FTF. On the record, from now on we celebrate Indepencence Day on 6th of July! (BTW, TeamHorwich's picture finally reveals his split personality)
