Geocache Description:

I know what you’re thinking, noble traveler of the Glenn Highway. You’re thinking “that’s a bit out of my way”. Silly traveler! I’ve made this worth your while – trust me. The cache brings you to a handy bench near a little lake off of the Glenn Highway (exit at mile 72.9 – Fish Lake Rd). You won’t see the water from the cache itself, but you may see the lake from the highway as you drive in. Many maps list this spot as Thirtymile Lake, but residents generally call it Ida Lake.

Cache now open to all (was premium only). From the lake, you can sit in peace and marvel at the beauty of King Mountain – in the summer, you’ll usually have little trouble finding sheep wandering its face.

Feel free to park in the driveway at the coordinates while you look around. If you need to sit and think, take a rest on the bench that gives this cache its name – that’s what it’s there for!

Please be gentle with the cache location. The owners of this property have given me permission to place it here, and I want to keep them happy! Thanks to Chickaloonie for maintaining the cache. This seemed like a great spot, and Alaska’s home to me, but I’m living out of the area right now.
NOTE: There’s no need to touch or enter the gate (the cache is not that far from the road), nor do you need to step off level ground. Whether the cache is accessible in the winter is yet to be seen.

Lastly, please replace exactly as found.

FTF will claim an unactivated Washington State “10 Years of Geocaching” coin. I may add a hint after the initial find if it seems necessary, but for now you're on your own.

Congrats to questing for the FTF! Well done. :) Note: This cache has been renamed, as "Ida Lake Rest Stop" sounded like a dilapidated trucker restroom; this is no such thing.
