Geocache Description:

A view to the Old Maslenica bridge.
From this place you have a beautiful view towards the village Maslenica, the Old Maslenica bridge and the whole Novigrad sea.

Sa lokacije imate prekrasan pogled na mjesto Maslenica, Stari Maslenicki most te na cijelo Novigradsko more.

When the Maslenica bridge was destroyed during the war, as a temporary solution a pontoon bridge was build from Maslenica to where you stand.
The bridge was 279 m long, 7.6 m in width and consisted of 5 barges and 6 transition bridges. The pontoon bridge was a regular target of bombarding, sometimes they sunk some parts, but the bridge was still floating and served its purpose.
Pontoon bridge across the Novsko Zdrilo was still only a temporary solution. In the meantime it was decided to build a new arch bridge on the route of the motorway between Croatian Dalmatia and the north, away from the site of the old bridge about a mile and a half.

Kada je Maslenicki most razrusen tijekom rata, kao privremeno rješenje je izgrađen pontonski most iz mjesta Maslenica do mjesta na kojem stojite.
Most je bio dug 279 m, širok 7.6 m te se sastojao od 5 teglenica i 6 prijelaznih mostića. Pontonski most je bio redovita meta bombardirnja, ponekad su i potopili poneki dio, ali most je i dalje plutao i služio svojoj svrsi.
Pontonski je most preko Novskog ždrila ipak bio samo privremeno rješenje. U međuvremenu je odlučeno da se gradi novi lučni most na trasi buduće autoceste između Dalmacije i sjeverne Hrvatske, udaljen od lokacije starog mosta približno kilometar i pol.
