Geocache Description:





Cachers are looking for a uniquely camoflauged ammo can. The cache was placed for the Geo-Mazing Race event that was held on July 7th. Each cache page has a theme of one of the Olympic cateogries.






The Heptathlon:


The heptathlon is perhaps the most demanding women's track and field event contested at the Olympic Games. Because it is made up of seven events, the heptathlon is sometimes called the all-around of the women's track and field. The event tests everything from speed and endurance to strength and agility, and the woman with the best overall performance goes home with the gold medal.

The Olympic heptathlon is contested during the course of two days. The seven events are always held in the same order, and athletes receive points for each event. At the end of the two days, the points are added and the woman with the most points is the winner.

On the first day of competition, the women compete in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200-meter events. The women round out the heptathlon with the long jump, javelin throw and 800-meter on the second day of competition.
