Geocache Description:

The cache is a medium size lock and lock box.  Stay alert for mugglers.  The cache has some items the kids will enjoy.

The Ferrum family will be there to greet you as you near the cache. The family is located 165 feet north of the cache. Rusty has lived in our little town for over 10 years and in May 2012 the family joined him. Rusty has had a long career in the railroad business. Take close look at Rusty and you will see how his railroad background has left its mark on him. Please help our community in making them feel welcome. Try to avoid jokes about how much they weigh. Rusty weighs in at 2810 pounds and his wife is also pretty heavy duty, weighing 765 pounds. Even their little dog is a whopper at 350 pounds. Rusty’s father is local artist Chuck Moore.

There is an historic information plaque about 65 feet south of the cache. Rusty and his family stand in front of Langdale Mill. This textile plant was built in 1866. Originally made lap blankets, later became key manufacturer of Cotton Duck, a ship sail material. This plant made sails for Ole Ironsides. In the later years the plant manufactured canvas material. While in the neighborhood make sure to visit brother Stanley Ferrum at GC3Q1VE.

Congrats to all the Pikes on the FTF !
