Pinehurst Gardens Traditional Cache

FloridaJim: After a nine-year run, I've decided to archive this one. When I hid it, Google Maps still listed the park as Pinehurst Gardens, originally the site of a housing development. Updates to the maps no longer list it as such, so the name has been lost. Recently the park replaced the sign post that hosted the cache...don't know if somebody ran into the old one or what. Anyway, I'm going to let it die a natural death and work on a new cache. Thanks to the nearly 800 finders over the past nine years. Cache on!

A small cache, easy to get to and one of many in this county park.

Why does the name Pinehurst Gardens show up on maps of Wickham Park? Maybe it was a neighborhood planned a long time ago before Brevard County decided to name a park after Joe Wickham. Anyway, I was looking for a name for this cache that wouldn’t give it away and figured Pinehurst Gardens would work. You’re looking for a well camouflaged pill case that could be described as a bison tube. If you have trouble finding it, blame fellow Geocachers who devise evil hides, they made me do it. Good luck!! 2/13/13 Update: Replaced container. BTW, permission to hide this cache was given by Wickham Park Ranger Jeff Whitehead and he said, “Thanks for asking.” Congratulations to Cleasby for FTF!! Only six hours after posting. I really thought the regulars would be on this like flies on...pie.
