Another "Cleared To Land" series geocache!
I am a pilot, so it only seems fitting to place a cache at these locations. Madison Municipal Airport (52A) is a very small airport used mainly for general aviation, so you won't see many large jets, but I think it is still always cool to see planes taking off and landing. This is my favorite airport to land at in the Atlanta area simply because the price of fuel here is usually around $2.00 to $3.00 cheaper per gallon than some of the other large airports! If you see a plane coming in for landing, give a little wave, it could be me! I have made all of these caches accessible within walking distance from the FBO (Main Terminal) of the airport where the cache is located that way my fellow pilot geocachers can access the cache without needing a car.
The cache is a large gum canister. I am starting it out with a Jeep TB. BRING YOUR OWN PEN! Please place cache in the same location it was hidden in order to keep it from being washed away or muggled. Though the cache is not located within the boundaries of the airport or on private property, please use common sense regarding airport security. This may be a small airport, but security is still a priority for general aviation as well as commercial aviation. Please do not cross the fence or go through the gates. At times the gate(s) may be open, this is for authorized use only. Enjoy finding this cache and hopefully you'll catch a glimpse of a plane or two.
Cache placed with permission from airport and city personnel.
