After graduating from college, I went to work for Boeing. At that time a movie called Boeing Boeing was playing. The star of the movie was Christiane Schmidtmer, a very impressive German actress and model. Okay, okay, I admit there were also a pair of guys by the name of Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis. They played the flight crew of a Boeing 707 that was flying the Atlantic jet-set run.

So where is the puzzle? Well, one of the break pastimes of the engineers at Boeing was to try and develop a mathmatical formula that related the middle number of the Boeing model, to a certain variable characteristic of all the Boeing models. While I was working there, nobody was successful at generating such a formula. Your task is not to try to succeed at that endeavor, but to figure out what that variable characteristic of each model was, and then plug that characteristic into the formula below. All math operations are limited to within the brackets. I will limit the model types you have to deal with to those that existed at the time I worked there: B707, B727, B737, and B747.
