Geocache Description:

Sunset at Sibaya may be accompanied by the sound of fish eagles and hippos.

At around 50 square kilometres in area, Sibaya is the largest freshwater lake in South Africa.

The spot is known to some of the diving fraternity at Sodwana, who sometimes take groups to enjoy the magnificent scenery for a sundowner. Travel time from Sordies is about 40 minutes. The sandy road after the control gate requires a four-wheel-drive vehicle.

Although the control gate closes at sundown, a friendly chat with the guard as you fill in the book usually allows a later exit. Entry is free.

To reach the spot, turn left about 250m past the gate.

Replaced by Porky2 on 22 November 2012.
