Geocache Description:

This can be a cache and dash but be very careful when entering and exiting this end of the lane by car.

This part of Cherry Lane (well that's what it's called on Geocaching maps, but locally just known as the "track to Pilstye Farm" - thanks to Flatcoat Walker for the correction) is a public bridleway leading down to, and beyond, Pilstye Farm but it joins the B2036 on a somewhat dangerous corner (aka Gypsies Corner) and it is easy to overshoot the turning off the main road when approaching from either north or south.

There is room for one or two cars to park in the lane, just near this north end, without being an obstruction. Once in the lane, there is space to turn around in preparation for departure. You are now at GZ.

Please do take great care when leaving. It's wise to wind down your front windows in order to hear the traffic approaching from both directions. The safest way to exit is, of course, to the north.

Having given all these safety warnings, we also have to say that we have entered and exited this location frequently without incident and the warnings are here as precautions because we would hate for anyone to have a car accident in seeking one of our caches.

It is, of course, also possible to reach this cache on a walk from the other end of Cherry Lane or coming from the east from Ardingly on the footpath that crosses over the railway line and continues along past Furland Wood, emerging on the B2036 opposite the bridleway down Cherry Lane.

The cache container is slightly smaller than a 35 mm container but is bigger than a nano, and certainly larger than a cherry pit!
