Caches 1-45 can be accessed by motorized boat, canoe,or kayak. But be prepared for a long paddle. This is a two-way paddle since there is no upstream put-in or take-out. A total of about 7 mi. one way.
You ask for them and now you got them!! Paddle Tanner’s Creek. The caches were placed when the river was at pool stage of 26.5 ft. We placed these caches with a small motorized boat. Watch for wildlife. We saw deer, wild turkey, Kingfisher, Wood Ducks, hawks, and many other birds.
The put in and put out location will be the same at a free public boat ramp back of McDonald’s. We’ve included a reference point to the boat/canoe/kayak ramp. Again, you will have to bring your own canoe, kayak, fishing boat, or any other type of water craft to access these caches!
This series of caches can only be reached by water. Some caches may be accessible by a small motorboat or Ski-Do type craft, but not all. If you do try to access any without a boat, and we get any indication of that or going through private property, your log will be immediately deleted!
We motored up approximately 7 miles for these caches. You will be looking for a Coolhipwithit signature item, the same item hidden on Laughtery, South and North Hogan Creeks attached in the same manner. . . permanently attached, so again, don’t forget an extraction tool and a pen! (Be careful with those lids!)
Hope you enjoy your time on the water and, As Always, Paddle On; remember it's the journey not the destination
Special thanks to grandson Joe for the help placing these caces.
