A Cache in a Park on the way to Karori
Appleton Park is named after Sir William Appleton mayor of Wellington from 1944-1950.
The park was originally the lower part of the Kaiwharawhara stream. It was filled up in 1885 to become the site of the city dump (tip, landfill).
The overhead transmission lines make this a challenging location to obtain accurate coordinates. The best EPE I achieved while placing the cache was +/- 12m. This is reflected in a slightly higher difficulty rating than it would normally have. You are looking for a log only cache, please bring you own pen or pencil. This could be a busy place at certain times due to weekend sports events, please use some discretion when looking to ensure the cache does not get missing.
Please NOTE that you must sign the logsheet for each individual cacher, Finds logged not corrosponding with the logbook may be deleted (photo logs are unacceptable and will be deleted).
Please take some time before leaving to ensure that the cache is re-hidden exactly as you found it.
