The railway came to Nantawarra in 1923 and with it much new trade as well as people both passing through or staying to work.From Nantawarra the line advanced towards Snowtown,for this to happen there was a building gang that comprised 200 men,100 horses,23 drays, 53 scoops, four ploughs and a crusher.Most of the workers were Maltese nationality.
In 1937, two large water tanks were errected at the siding and then 6 cottages were added later that same year becomming occupied by christmas.
At some stage there was a Nantawarra Railway station added to the siding and it was still standing at the Platform in 1982.
The other thing of some significance is the Silo complex.These silos were built in 1956 and were the first concrete silos built inland, a rather important structure at the time.The foundations go down 23ft and are 100fy high and 40ft in diameter, with a holding capacity of 420,000 bushels.
