In August 2012 the UK Mega Event is coming to Cartmel in Cumbria. This welcome social event at the Mega Campsite is one of a varied series of events supporting this Mega Event. It is hosted by Scottiedogz, supported by members of the North West Mega Event Team.
A Scottiedogz Day Out In The Country at Cartmel
This will be our 4th Day Out In the Country Event, but our first in a new country (England)
This, first Event is a chance to meet other cachers who are in the area, either camping or staying in other accommodation nearby, or just visiting for the day.
As an introductory social Event it is an opportunity to catch up with friends you haven't seen for a while, meet new friends, swap stories and make plans to meet up during the week. But, as a food themed event, we would like you to share a delicacy from your part of the world.
The North West Mega will bring together geocachers from all over the globe and different cultures.
Cartmel is the home of the world famous Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Scottiedogzland is home of shortbread, tablet, oatcakes and of course Irn Bru.
We hope to surprise and delight you with our wee ‘taste of Scotland’.
What bakery delicacies can you surprise us with from your local area to share with geocachers from around the world?
We hope to have a cake decorating contest for the kids, so please let us know how many children are coming.

If you are not camping with us in Cartmel Park, we ask that you do not park in the Pay and Display Car Park, but drive into the Campsite (entrance south of the village), where you are welcome to park for free.
How to get here?
By car:
From the A590 take the exit south of Low Newton and follow the yellow AA signs which will direct you into Cartmel Park.
Driving Directions
Please do not aim for the event coords on your Car Sat Nav, as this may take you on the narrow village roads. Use postcode LA11 7SE which will take you to the vehicle entrance.
The event will be signposted by Yellow AA Road Signs.
