Geocache Description:

Off State Highway 68 on Camino Sur Del Llano Quemado

Llano Quemado is Spanish for Burned Plain.  This inhabited area is located on a broad plain that at one time was burned.  Before the Spanish settled here in 1716, this was a site of Taos Indian farming.  Apache and Commanche raids and burnings led to the site abandoment at least once.  The area was resettled by the Spanish by the end of the 18th Century.

Spirit caches are a series placed at or near NM cemeteries in hopes of paying respect to the Pioneer ancestors having "gone" on before us, and, possibly picking up a bit of history on the area.
