Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden close to a public footpath/bridleway.  I’ve defined this as a small cache as it’s large enough to place a TB but isn’t big enough for a conventional logbook or a pen so please bring your own.

This is a small plastic container hidden along a public footpath/bridleway in Little Clacton.  The path can get a little muddy at times of heavy rainfall and is not suitable for wheelchair access.  There are a few approaches to the cache, you could park at the end of St. Osyth Road East where there should be space available and then walk the short distance along the path to the cache location.  Alternatively, park up at Elm Road and enter the signposted footpath/bridleway from there.  This walk takes you around the outside of what I feel is a picturesque field of barley, especially when the sun is shining (hence the name of the cache).  This walk seems to be quite popular with locals walking their dogs.  If you feel like a longer walk, continue past the cache location from either end and through Little Clacton village past the old Norman church building along the Main Street (The Street) back to Elm Road. There are at least 2 other caches in close proximity to this route at time of publication. You could also walk from Dead Lane (where there is another cache) along the footpath which takes you across the bypass (please take care!) to the bridleway.
I hope you’ll be able to find this without a hint.  I don’t think it’ll be a difficult find - the cache container should look out of place.  Please remember to log your visit.   I hope you enjoy the cache and be sure to replace the logbook and container exactly as found. Thanks.
