Geocache Description:

An easy disco cache to locate.... But a little bit of ingenuity will needed to retrieve it!. Good Luck.

This is the first in a series of 18 caches placed through Holywell Dene and surounding area. (numbered to make route easier).

Don't forget to check each cache (#01 to #17) as clues to the bonus cache (#18) are randomly placed in some of the first 17 caches.

Terrain:

The walk is about 3 miles and starts at the car park where the first cache is located, then heads in a northerly direction. The terrain varies from gravel footpaths, farm tracks and grassed areas, with stiles and steps on route.

History:

Originally named Merkel Dene, the land known today as Holywell Dene was first recorded circa 800AD. An ancient ravine woodland that stretches from the mouth of the Seaton Burn at Seaton Sluice, over six kilometres, through Holywell to Seghill. The outline of today's Holywell Dene has changed little since 800AD.

Suzie was our family pet who loved coming on this walk, for many years.

Suzie

Congratulations to tads10 on FTF.
