Geocache Description:

An interesting stop at an abject failure.  However, you should not fail to find this cache.

Back around 2002 before I knew anything about geocaching, I came through here and this location was a large solar panel experiment.  The structures you see were for observation and the large panel with the graffiti on it explained how everything worked.  Shortly after this visit, the US Government made the decision to no longer subsidize this type of project and as a result, this effort was completely shut down and apparently abandoned.  Funny thing is, the gates were never locked and the viewing area is fully accessible.  What you are viewing is abject failure.  However, the cache located nearby should not cause you any grief and you should walk away with a smiley. One other thing; I apologize if you get sap all over yourself. I didn't plan it that way and it wasn't until later that I found the stuff all over me. So, be careful.

NOTE: THERE WERE TWO CONTAINERS HERE. A REPLACEMENT WAS MADE AND THE THE ORIGINAL SHOWED UP. A SIGNATURE IN EITHER OR BOTH LOGS IS QUITE ACCEPTABLE.  HOWEVER, AS OF 1/12/2021, ONE OF THE CONTAINERS NO LONGER SEEMS TO BE IN PLAY.
