Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Periodic Table of the Elements power trail; which begins at Mount Henry Bridge and continues south down the freeway cycle path. Please stay safe and enjoy the power trail.

Nitrogen (N) makes up about 78% of our atmosphere by volume, but just 3% of the atmosphere of Mars. The element seemed so inert that Lavoisier named it azote, "without life". However, its compounds are vital components of foods, fertilizers and explosives. Nitrogen gas is colourless, odourless, and generally inert. As a liquid it is also colourless and odourless.
