Geocache Description:

A ford is a place in a watercourse (most commonly a stream or river) that is shallow enough to be crossed in a vehicle.

This cache is part of a series of caches we have set that take you to some of the fords that can be driven through on the Island.

This series was set in the summer, please take care in the winter months when water levels will be higher. Also, please take care at each of the cache sites as a number of them are on single track roads.

As this ford is close to Tynwald Hill we decided to set this live on Tynwald Day

It is strongly suggested that you park at Tynwald Mills and walk to the cache site as this is a nice walk along country roads and is less than a mile round trip. If you are brave of heart and decide to drive along the D21 (Brack a Broom Road) and carry on then please take care as the road becomes very narrow and there are very few passing places - be warned!

We have left a small gold lucky charm as a 'FTF' prize which is a horse and cart of the sort which probably roamed these lanes long before cars.
