Geocache Description:

Small cliplock bix with room for small trackables,

At the southeastern edge of Lawmuir Wood just off the track. I prefer to get here by bike from the Alloa to Dollar cycle path. You need to head south from the cycle path along the track that crosses the Devon towards Geo-Gophers "Riverside Hollow" cache (GC1CZJ8). You then go up a short but challenging climb that is best suited to mountain bikes. The cache is at the top of the hill. The cache is also accessible from the south. Park on the B9140 by the gates on the opposite side of the road from the track and walk north. The path is quite often waterlogged in sections.

The cache gets it's name from the fact I have been attacked along here by huge tabanid horse flies or as they are more commonly known, cleggs. The massive females feed on blood and the bites can really hurt.

The cache itself is appropriately hidden in another of this area's famous skin breakers (although flora rather than fauna).

There are very nice views from the cache. It's a good spot to get your breathe back if you've just cycled up the hill.

Well done to Clarinet 2 for managing to beat Claxons to the FTF. May be I should call the area Lawmuir Woodwind in your honour.
