Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates, but is within a mile. There are, however, several places near the posted coordinates that you may visit for help with solving the puzzle.

One of my favorite things about living in the Northwest (after the mountains and the coffee) is the incredible variety of beer available. Seattle and Portland are both on the national top in locally owned breweries per capita. Many more microbreweries distribute from the hop-growing heartlands east of the Cascades. Few places in the world could you walk into even the smallest convenience store and find such a selection of ales and lagers on the shelf!

This cache is a celebration of the brewing traditions in Oregon and Washington. Below you will find a picture of nine bottle caps used by brands that you will find in almost any grocery store. (Two of them are technically not from the Northwest, but don't let that bother you.) Using the magic of Photoshop I have removed some text from the labels. Your task is simple: count the total number of letters removed in this way, and assign that number to the corresponding letter A-I.



The final is a small container located at
N47 (B-E)C.(D-E)(G+I)(E-G) W122 (A-B)(D+C).(B+H)(H-G)(F-I)

If a result in the coordinate formula gives a negative number, flip the sign. If a result contains two or more digits, keep only the rightmost digit.

Note: The final is in a very busy area, with high visibility from nearby shops and restaurants. It is highly recommended to go looking for this in the morning, before the restaurants open. At all other times, please use appropriate stealth when removing and replacing the cache.
