Welcome to the Water's Edge at School Section Lake! In this location, you'll see that there is lots of activity. Beavers have been helping themselves to trees in this area for several years, leaving downed trees along the water's edge. You'll also notice that there is a beaver lodge closeby as well. Western painted turtles line the water's edge in the summer as they sun themselves on logs. Many bird species like this area as well, especially the red-necked grebes that you'll probably hear and view while at the cache in the summertime.
You may also see our fleet of canoes nearby as well. Canoes are available to rent by contacting park staff in the summertime. There are also weekend programs here at the park that sometimes include free canoeing. Check the bulletin boards for upcoming programming information.
This cache container is a peanut butter jar. It was previously a cache called Play Time and we utilized the same log book. So, if you visit this cache you may see other logs in the book, but if you visit it and sign it after 6/29/12 you could be the first to find!
