Geocache Description:

Geocache is located VERY HIGH on the Robertson Lake Bluffs.
Take Hwy 17 North from Sault Ste. Marie for approx 27 km to Old Hwy 17 Road, then turn right (east) on Robertson Lake Road and travel 4.9 km until you reach trailhead at ( N 46* 46.036 W 84* 17.718 ) where there is limited parking near beginning of LONG STEEP trail leading to top of "The Bluffs".
Park in a safe location that permits through traffic to pass freely.

Cache consists of a medium size, camoed, screw-top, plastic jar containing logbook, pencil and some loot for trading.
As with most of my caches, this one will be concealed but not very difficult to find.
Not a winter friendly location.
It's advisable to wear sturdy footwear for the rugged climb and take insect repellant with you for the summer months.
Allow 2 hours for the round trip hike, and longer if you want to picnic / sight see / explore.
Take lots of drinking water and an easy-to-carry snack.
This is a STRENUOUS hike and not recommended for people with cardio, respiratory, other medical conditions or bad knees which make hill climbing hazardous.
Don't even think of taking ANY wheeled vehicles, wagons, walkers, strollers etc. up there! If it won't fit in a packsack, leave it behind.
Medivac from the bluffs would be extremely challenging.
Good luck and don't forget your camera for the spectacular scenery, especially in the Autumn when the colours are most impressive.
Elevation at parking lot = 242 metres ASL
Elevation at summit = 418 metres.
Climb differential = 176 metres
Follow the white, tree-tag-blazed trail to the summit. Before the summit there is another trail marked with blue tree tags taking you to a more spectacular lookout for picture taking.
However, the geocache is at the white trail summit.
Be extremely cautious of taking young children and pets up to "The Bluffs" as there is a totally unguarded SHEER DROP-OFF CLIFF-FACE at both lookout points and near the geocache.

WARNING: It is highly INADVISABLE to attempt this find in the dark. The trail is very rugged and the Bluffs are dangerous!

Robertson Lake Road is NOT plowed in the winter.

CONGRATULATIONS to SSMTRVLR for FTF. Well done and thanks for the fine report.

Updated: Congratulations to SSMTRVLR who got FTF on this cache as well as the other two caches on this mountain. Well done. We hereby proclaim you "King of the Bluffs"!
