Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the bronze statue of Princess Tatsuko.
Cache container is a card case. Please bring your pen.

Princess Tatsuko was the beautiful girl of legend. It was reported that she wanted of eternal youth and beauty, and became a dragon drinking fountain of revelation of God. The statue was produced by famous sculptor Yasutake Funakoshi in 1968. The surface of the statue is by shining golden lacquered gold dust. Statue of Princess Tatsuko, standing on the surface of the lake to the mystical, is a symbol of Lake Tazawa.

たつこ姫は，永遠の若さと美貌を願い，神のお告げの泉を飲んで龍になったと伝えられる，伝説の美少女です。その像は，戦後日本を代表する彫刻家の舟越保武によって，昭和43年に制作されました。像の表面は金粉の漆塗りで，黄金色に輝いています。たつこ像は，湖面に神秘的に佇む，田沢湖のシンボルです。
