To continue on with the Series and the 12th Anniversary of Geocaching in Canada this cache is placed where you can enter Lunenburg County on the #3 Highway. This year's cache was placed with part of our geocaching family on board... tiggerman and Bon Dog. We've had lots of fun and laughs while out caching together and were glad to have them here today to help with the location and hide.
This cache is part of the ‘The Welcome to Lunenburg County Geocache Series’ which was placed by eastriver and HondaGirl2006 as a 10Th Anniversary of Geocaching in Canada Project. The caches are placed within sight of the county line signs on major and secondary roads leading in to Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. There is safe parking very near all of the caches in this Series.
In two locations (both on Highway #103) there is a very large sign stating that Lunenburg County is the Balsam Fir Christmas Tree Capital of the World, and that Lunenburg County was also the Forest Capital of Canada for 1996. More notable to all Geocachers is that Canada’s first geocache (GCBBA/GC41) was placed in Lunenburg County on 28 June of 2000 and is located at Exit #7 of Highway 103, about halfway between Hubbards and Chester.
