Geocache Description:

This year my wife and I will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversery.  As a couple one of the stories people often ask is how you proposed.  This is the gist of our proposal.   While we were dating we often talked about traveling to romantic cities such as Paris, France or Venice, Italy. So on the day I was going to propose, I gave my soon to be wife an envelope and inside was a note and two made up plane tickets to Venice. I blind folded her and drove around until we finally ended up at an indoor swimming pool where I used to work. I had decorated the pool to make it look as though we were on the watery streets of Venice. Also because it was at night and we were at an indoor pool, if you opened up the outside doors the heated pool caused the whole pool room to become full of a foggy misty haze so all you could see was the glowing pool water. When we arrived at the pool, I had cheesey love songs of Italy playing in the background. We walked to the water where our gondola (a rubber raft) was waiting for us. We rowed around the pool for a little bit slowly making our way to the other side of the pool where I had set up an authentic Italian candle light dinner. After dinner we shut the outside doors and the fog lifted and at the bottom of the pool were large sea and conk shells scattered all over the bottom of the pool. Because her plane ticket said we were only going to Venice, I told her we were now in Venice Beach, California and were going to go snorkeling and dive for sea shells. Well there was one special one at the far deep end of the pool. I had tied her engagement ring to the bottom of a Star Fish. When she dove down to pick up the star fish, she noticed that there was something tied to it. Once we surfaced she saw that it was a ring and I proposed. We still have that Star Fish and I have always considered it my Lucky Star where my all my dreams came true. This cache is symbolic of that day 10 years ago. I hope you too will find and make a wish upon this Lucky (geocache) Star.
