Geocache Description:

A wee puzzle cache which is dependant on a couple of other caches. It is placed to celebrate American Independence Day on account of Beith's connection to the event and also because I have family living over there who enjoy a bit of caching as well.

I am placing this cache today, the 4th of July, Independance Day in the USA,  in reconition of my hometown's contribution to this important date in the American calendar. The Rev J. D. Witherspoon left Beith and eventually became a signatory to the Treaty Of Independance in America along with a list of other major achievements . (visit link)

The coordinates given are the Town Centre of Beith where you will find the Auld Kirk where the Rev preached before going to America. But hen by the time you have worked out GZ you will know all about him and Beith.

To find the cache you will have to do a wee bit of additional caching and map work There are two caches you will need to find and then loacte on a map:

1. GC2WGKW, "Play School's View - A Riddle Around Beith" which will require to visit various sites within Beith and thereby expand your knowledge of Beith and the good Rev's background. (visit link)

2. GCHP24, "Druids Grave" again another wee bit of local history. (visit link)

3. GC30X00 "A Guid Walk Wasted" (Added to provide another bearing) (visit link)

Next the fun bit, a wee bit of triangulation is required

From 1 above plot a line from GZ on a bearing of 56°M
From 2 above plot a line from GZ on a bearing of 315°M
From 3 above plot a line from GZ on a bearing of 41°M

There are various routes to GZ but all require some proper footwear and you may encounter some of our farmyard friends.

FTF Goes to Chenks after a not inconsiderable amount of work. I think I will invest in some more tools to asist with setting up these cache types..... !!!
