This cache is placed in Star NC, the gegraphic center of the state. This is a very friendly cache.
There are two stories that go along with this cache. The first is about the replica Norfolk and Southern train engine that is GZ. There was a train like this one back in the forties that gave families a little ride for amusement. A picture of that train is inside the municipal office. You will have to inquire about it as it is on a side corridor, but it is worth seeing. The second story concerns the Norfolk and Southern railway that ran along an east / west route during Star's heyday. That line, sadly no longer is in operation in Star.
