Kulturweg.Gais (Gais Culture Trail) runs along the boundary stream to Neuhaus Castle and is an inviting place in which to meditate and linger for a while.

Works have been installed by various artists along the way in honour of the important figures who once lived and worked in Gais. These include: the minstrel Oswald of Wolkenstein, the American poet Ezra Pound, his daughter Mary de Rachewiltz and Bacher, the artist. At the same time, to the attentive observer the path is a natural spectacle of unimagined beauty, enriching the soul and offering a peaceful haven in an increasingly loud world.

Over a total length of 2 kilometres the trail offers views of the unique debris cone of Gais, the village itself with its Romanesque church, and the hill opposite it, on which the mighty Kehlburg castle stands.

Il percorsO culturale.Gais conduce attraverso la Bachscheide a Castel Neuhaus ed invita a fermarsi ed a meditare. Lungo il percorso alcuni artisti hanno installato infatti delle opere con cui onorano delle grandi personalità che hanno vissuto ed operato a Gais. Si tratta del menestrello Oswald von Wolkenstein, del poeta americano Ezra Pound, di sua figlia Mary de Rachewiltz e degli artisti Bacher. Contemporaneamente il percorso si presenta per l’osservatore attento come uno spettacolo naturale di straordinaria bellezza, un arricchimento spirituale, una felicità silenziosa in un mondo sempre più rumoroso, aprendo in più punti della sua lunghezza complessiva di 2 chilometri la vista sul bel conoide morenico di Gais, sul paese stesso con la sua chiesa romanica e sulla collina di fronte su cui si eleva imponente il castello di Chela. Gais onora con il suo percorso culturale la memoria di questi famosi letterati ed artisti ed invita ad approfondirne l’opera.

Der KulturWeg.Gais führt über die Bachscheide zum Schloss Neuhaus und lädt zum Meditieren und Verweilen ein. Denn entlang des Weges haben KünstlerInnen Werke installiert, mit denen sie große Persönlichkeiten würdigen, die ehemals in Gais gelebt und gewirkt haben. Es sind dies: der Minnesänger Oswald von Wolkenstein, der amerikanische Dichter Ezra Pound, seine Tochter Mary de Rachewiltz sowie die Künstler Bacher. Gleichzeitig präsentiert sich der Weg für den aufmerksamen Beobachter wie ein Naturschauspiel von ungeahnter Schönheit, eine Bereicherung der Seele, ein stilles Glück in einer zunehmend lauten Welt, gibt er doch auf einer Gesamtlänge von 2 Kilometern an mehreren Stellen den Blick frei auf den einmaligen Schuttkegel von Gais, auf das Dorf selbst mit der romanischen Kirche und auf den gegenüberliegenden Hügel, auf welchem die mächtige Kehlburg steht. Gais ehrt mit diesem Kulturweg das Andenken an diese bekannten Literaten und Künstler und lädt ein, sich mit deren Werken auseinanderzusetzen.
