Heward Cemetery Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

onecrazycanadian: Hi 2figs

In your last note you indicated that the cache would be enabled when spring arrived. Since the cache has remained disabled over the summer and fall I cannot let it go any longer. Consequently I am archiving the cache at this time as I cannot let it remain disabled any longer.

Thanks

Geocache Description:

Back in 1903 Heward was one quarter mile east of its present location and was named Caldwell, in honour of Ham Caldwell the owner of the land. With the arrival of the C.P.R. a different location was chosen and in the spring of 1904 the fledgling businesses in Caldwell were moved to the new village of Heward at its present location. The railway named the village in honour of A.R.G. Heward, former assistant secretary of the C.P.R. in Montreal. The population of the new village and the rural area was growing so in 1905 property was purchased from the government and the Heward Cemetery was created. The now fully grown perimeter trees were planted in 1922.

Please Remember: A cemetery is a sacred place. Quiet and reverence must be observed by everyone.
