Stage one: The posted coordinates will bring you to a sign located just outside a scenic local golf course club house, easily seen from the road. Bring your clubs if you care to play 9 or 18 holes. Be careful of muggles and traffic while gathering information at the first stop. Use the following math to determine the coordinates of the second/final stage.
- Locate the year on the sign. *Note: The sign changes periodically, but the number is not hard to find nearby. It is a four digit number associated with the facility's emblem, and is written in numerous locations not far from the posted coordinates. You may have to walk around the facility a little, or do some research if the sign does not currently reflect the four digit number.*
- Divide this year by 10,000.
- Add .1349 to the answer
- The results are the decimal minutes north for the next (final) Stage. [(e.g., N ##° ##.***) shown by asterisks]
- Again using the year on the sign, subtract 1,665 from it.
- Divide this number by 1,000.
- Add your answer to the decimal minutes(numbers to the right of the decimal) west in the posted coordinates.
- The results are the decimal minutes west for the next (final) Stage. [(e.g., W ###° ##.***) shown by asterisks]
Final Stage: This stage brings you to our favorite local tennis court. Feel free play a few sets if you brought your racquet or just enjoy a short break on the bench if you’re not the athletic type. The cache is hidden at the coordinates calculated in the steps above. You can park at stage one and easily walk to the second/final stage, or you may choose to drive. The cache is hidden in a location-appropriate camouflaged container not far off the mowed lawn. There is some sports equipment included the container, for effect. Don’t wander too far off due to neighborhood property lines. Sign the log and replace as found. Enjoy the hunt and good luck.
