Geocache Description:

**There is nothing at the posted coordinates above. Please resist the urge to cross over the falls on a high wire! **

On June 16th, 2012, Nik Wallenda became the first person to walk across Niagara Falls on a high wire, in a highly publicized and widely televised daredevil stunt. Starting in the USA and ending in Canada, Wallenda made it across the gorge safely, with his journey taking roughly 25 minutes.

For almost 200 years, people have been obsessed with turning Niagara Falls and the Niagara Gorge into the backdrop for their death-defying stunts. From tightropes and high wires, to barrels, inner tubes and jet skis, there has been no shortage of imagination when selecting a prop to preform such feats. Many of these daredevils have been successful, but sadly, many stunts in years past have ended in tragedy.

In order to find the cache, you'll have to identify the daredevils below and answer a few questions about them. It shouldn't be too hard. The cache is located at:

43. 04. ABC 079 00. DEF

A. Considered to be the most famous daredevil of Niagara, this French-born tightrope walker first crossed the Niagara Gorge in 1859. A = the number of letters in his "true (i.e. birth)" last name minus 3.

B. This Englishman was the 2nd person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel, although he certainly paid the price for his death-defying stunt; he spent 6 months in the hospital recovering from the injuries he sustained going over the falls. B = the 2nd number in the year he was born minus 6.

C. This lovely Italian lady became the 1st woman to cross the Niagara Gorge on a tightrope. C = the 2nd digit of the year she accomplished this feat.

D. This Canadian daredevil had an estimated 25,000 people watch as he went over the falls in a steel barrel. Sadly, his son followed in his footsteps years later but did not survive the trip over the falls. D = the 3rd digit in the year that "Sr." went over the falls in his steel barrel plus 2.

E. Born in Lockport, but raised and educated in Ontario, this daredevil forged a one-sided rivalry with The Great Blondin. E = the 3rd digit in the year he was born minus 3.

F. This English barrel maker came to Niagara Falls from Philadelphia and would become the first person to ever perform a barrel stunt here. F = the last digit in the year he navigated the great gorge rapids via barrel plus 1.

The final cache container is a camo'd matchstick container containing a log only. There is plenty of free parking nearby and you should enjoy a nice leisurely walk to the cache!

Good luck, have fun and happy caching!
