Geocache Description:

A simple straight forward new hide for me. Although an easy cache be aware of ticks. I picked up 3 or 4 of them while placing this cache.

This is an area I used to play in a lot when I was just a kid. This area is being used for clay extraction to be used to make house bricks. The company that holds the mineral rights from the Ministry is the third largest in the world. They use bulldozers to scrape the clay out into a big pile and let the weather break it down for about three months. Then after the clay has been weathered it gets trucked away to go through the brick making processes. There were various small ponds here when i was a kid from when a local company had the mineral rights. My friends and I used to ride our dirt bikes in the fields behind the new fencing, we used to have large forts built up in the trees in the forest, and my dad and i used to hunt here for years. Alas that has all changed along with the times. When the mining of the clay is done .... ( expected to take about 60 years ) the current company will make this area a natural wildlife reserve as there will be a giant 60 - 90 foot deep lake here when they are done. Do. Not cross the fence when searching for the cache as that would be trespassing . Cache is small and only holds a logbook. Happy caching !
