I have been a Boy Scout Leader for the past 18 years. This cache is named after one of my favorite places that I have gone to with my scouts. The Sipsey Wilderness is one of the best kept secrets in Alabama. My scouts and I have hiked almost every trail that there is to hike in the wilderness. Borden Creek and the hunters cabin are two of our favorite places to camp. We also like the area around Ship Rock and Eye of the Needle and the high beaches along Trail 209. We once spent four nights in July camped along these beaches and had great ralaxing time. I enjoyed sleeping next to the river and hearing the sounds of the nearby rapids. We also found a wonderful adandoned Austallian Border Collie at a nearby church that we named Sipsey. Sipsey hiked and camped with us and hiked out to the cars with us to go on road trips that week. After we got Sipsey home, I adopted Sipsey and she lived another 6 years with us. I have some very wonderful memories of hiking and camping in the Sipsey Wilderness with my scouts.
You can a small waterfall near this cache. There is a faint trail to the cache from the water.
