Geocache Description:

P&G with plenty of parking for any kind of weather.

When we first placed this cache, there were three memorials within close walking distance of each other--now there are five, but we will not rename the cache. Since this area is the hub for police from all over the county, you will not want to look suspicious. So take a look at the police memorial, then the fire/EMS memorial, then mosey over to the memorial showing up on your GPS unit. The cache container is not placed on the actual memorial.

This cache was originally a nano under the bench, but the bench began to rust & the back fell off. Hopefully, all will be repaired soon, but we have upped the size of the cache and hidden it a short distance from the nearest memorial.

On May 2, 2003 the Warren County Fire Chief's Association dedicated the Fire and EMS Monument at a ceremony honoring those who perished in the line of duty.  The monument includes a two foot chunk of beam from the World Trade Center donated by the NYC fire department.

On September 11, 2012, an additional monument to the 9/11 attack was dedicated near the Fire and EMS Monument. It is also reported to include a piece from the World Trade Center. Two marble pillars represent the towers.

On May 21, 2003, the Fraternal Order of Police placed their memorial in honor of policemen killed in the line of duty. The most recent name is that of Sgt. Brian Dulle, the first Warren County sheriff's deputy to die in the line of duty. There is also a separate memorial to Dulle.

The memorial to the victims of domestic violence, built in 2001, honors Suzie Defosses Thompson and other victims, and  is the gathering place for an annual candlelight ceremony each October.
