I've put my canoe in at this location numerous times. It's a popular spot for people to fish from shore as well. I've noticed that sometimes people will simply throw their catch to the side instead of putting the fish back in the water or taking it with them, hence the "fishy" smell. The cache is a small camo taped pill bottle. In the Spring and Summer, you'll want to make sure you're covered in bug spray as the skeeters here are really miserable. BYOP
