The bank used to be the sea defence bank until the construction of Marine Drive some years ago. The re-claimed land on the left is now an RSPB reservation with many viewing platforms and hides along the front. The public footpath along the top of the bank is now part of the Sefton Coastal Footpath which runs from the northern outskirts of Liverpool through dunes, marshes, the towns of Southport and Crosby and passes Ainsdale Nature and Formby National Trust Reserves. South of Southport part of the route coincides with the Trans Pennine Trail.
On a clear day you can see North Wales, Snowdonia, the Lake District and Blackpool.
This is a keyring cache. You will need to bring your own pen. This can be a high muggle area so stealth may be required! Please replace as found.
