Geocache Description:

This is my first cache hide and I thought what better place to have it than my home town of Troy, PA.

Since I started caching, I have been to a number of places that I never would have been to had there not been a cache located there. Many of these places I never knew existed, but I was pleasantly surprised when arriving at the coordinates. This is one of those places I feel that you will feel the same way. I hope that you enjoy this part of northeastern Pennsylvania and if you are old enough you enjoy the memories and if you are younger I hope you enjoy the history.

The cache you are seeking is wheelchair accessible, and should be "muggle" free except for the following times of the year when you should plan on coming to Troy: Maple Festival (last weekend in April), Troy Fair (last full week in July), Heritage Festival (3rd week in September), and Farmer’s Market (Saturdays 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM from mid April to October). You should have no problems locating the cache even at these times. I wanted to make it easy to find on your way into the museum.

After signing the log, please step inside the museum and also sign the visitor’s log inside the museum, and if geocaching brought you here let them know. The museum is funded by donations and run by volunteers – take the tour of the museum and remember those good ol’ days gone bye.

There is a historic village adjacent to the museum that is available to walk around and take pictures. These buildings are open during the Heritage Festival.

Museum hours are from May to end of October, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 9:00AM – 4:00PM, and Sunday 1:00 PM – 4:00PM. You can contact the museum at 570-297-3410 to make an appointment.

The farm museum can be seen from RT 14, approximately ½ mile north of US6. Please enter Alparon Park Gate #2 and follow the drive across the parking lot to the museum and coordinates listed.

The cache is an ammo can with plenty of room for tradable items. If you take something please leave something of equal or greater value. There is a trackable travel bug in the cache to be moved on and this would make a good spot to swap out travel items. There is also a gift certificate in the cache for the First to Find. Please replace the cache exactly as found.

Cache placed with permission of the museum
Congrats to Paddleaway for FTF!!
