Geocache Description:

Semi-Private Beach!

As a resident of the Puna area, I've picked some of my most favorite places to share with geocachers! I feel these each have a unique landscape or exceptional surroundings to make them a "MUST SEE" in my neck of the woods! Please enjoy the area and let me know if I can answer anything for you!!

Because this beach can be difficult to get to (unless you are staying in the closed community of Kapoho Beach), you can sometimes have the entire beach to yourself! Weekends are usually busier with locals, but if you go during the week, your chances are pretty good that there won't be many people there. There are some fish and an occasional turtle, but this is more for just enjoying the warm water in a coastal setting!

While 4WD isn't required, you DO need a vehicle with a very high clearance (a foot at least) and please take it carefully! You can walk in, it's about a mile but be sure to bring lots of water as its usually HOT from the sun on the lava rocks. The road leading in is very scenic with lots of beach views!

You will have to get wet and swim to get to this cache :)
